Does this sound like you?

"I keep starting… and stopping."

Without a teacher or a schedule, it's easy to lose momentum. Motivation alone doesn't stick.

"I don't even know where to begin."

Hiragana first? Grammar? Apps? The amount of advice online makes it harder, not easier.

"I've been on Duolingo for a year. Still can't have a conversation."

Apps are great for streaks — not for actually speaking. You need real interaction to progress.

"AI gave me wrong answers. And no one's correcting my pronunciation."

AI tools can mislead beginners. Without real feedback, bad habits build up fast.

FAQ

Common questions

What level do I need to be?
No experience needed at all. We welcome complete beginners through to advanced learners. During the booking process you'll take a short level check so we can match you with the right starting point.
What language are lessons taught in?
All our teachers are based in the UK and explain clearly in English. You never need to worry about not understanding your teacher — there's no language barrier between you and learning.
How long is each lesson?
Each unit is 45 minutes. We recommend 90-minute sessions (2 units) for the best learning experience — you cover more ground and there's time to let things sink in. Shorter or longer combinations are also available.
Can I take lessons with a friend?
Yes! Pair lessons are available for 2 people at an additional £10 per 45-minute session. For groups of 3 or more, please get in touch and we'll discuss what's possible.
Can I cancel or reschedule my lesson?
Reschedules are welcome up to 24 hours before your lesson — please contact your teacher directly. Each lesson can be rescheduled once only. Cancellations made within 24 hours will be charged in full. Packages are non-refundable once booked.
How long do I have to complete my package?
10 lessons: 4 months · 20 lessons: 8 months · 30 lessons: 12 months. There's no minimum pace — you can take multiple lessons per week if you'd like to progress faster.
Can I switch from in-person to online?
Once you've booked an in-person package, switching to online is not available with a price difference refund. If you're unsure, start with a single lesson or the trial before committing to a package.
Do I need to buy a drink at the café?
Yes please! By meeting at a café rather than a private studio, we're able to keep lesson prices lower without compromising on quality. We appreciate your support — and it makes for a much more relaxed lesson.
